ABOUT ME
I know what sleep deprivation does to a family. The exhaustion that seeps into everything. The patience that disappears by 3pm. The guilt that you're not being the parent you want to be.
I've been there. Bouncing on a yoga ball at 2am with my son, wondering if we'd ever sleep again.
I'm Margaretha, originally from South Africa, now calling Trinidad and Tobago home. I'm an Optometrist by training, a mom of two, and a certified sleep consultant who helps families with babies aged 4-14 months finally get the rest they desperately need.

When my son was born in 2018, sleep deprivation nearly broke us. We tried everything. Nothing worked. Until we discovered sleep training.
The transformation was life-changing. My son became a rested, content baby. I became the parent and partner I'd always wanted to be. Sleep changed everything.
I was so inspired that I got certified as a sleep consultant. When my daughter arrived in 2021, I confidently applied everything I learned. And she was sleeping through the night by 14 weeks, even while breastfeeding. Success story, right? Not quite.
As my daughter grew, something became clear: she didn't fit the "rules." The wake windows everyone swears by? Didn't work for her. According to industry standards, she should have been overtired and miserable. But she wasn't. She was thriving on LESS sleep than the charts said she needed.
My son? High sleep needs - 12 hours overnight.
My daughter? Low sleep needs - 10.5 hours.
Both happy. Both well-rested. Both completely different.
That's when everything changed for me as a sleep consultant.
WHY I DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY
I started questioning the generic advice I'd been taught. The cookie-cutter wake windows. The one-size-fits-all-schedules. The fear based claims flooding social media.
So I went looking for answers rooted in actual research. Not instagram trends or outdated "rules" that ignore the reality that every baby is different.
Here's what I know now: Quality sleep is essential for your child's development and your family's well-being. But there's no singe "right way" to get there.
My approach is built on three foundations:
1. Evidence-Based Methods
Everything I recommend is backed by research, not fear-mongering or misinformation.
2. Personalised Plans
We start by tracking YOUR baby's sleep for a full week to understand their actual needs, not what a generic chart says they should need. Then we create a plan that fits your baby's temperament, age and your family's values.
3. Responsive Support
Sleep training doesn't mean "cry it out." My approach includes regular check-ins, resets when needed, and compassionate guidance every step of the way.
I offer one-on-one support throughout your sleep training journey. Every question matters. No matter how big, small, or "silly" it feels.
Need reassurance that you're doing an amazing job? I'm here.
Wondering if your baby's sleep patterns are normal? Let's figure it out together.
Ready to make a change but feeling overwhelmed? We'll take it step by step.
Because here's the truth: Sleep training is hard. It's emotional. But you don't have to do it alone.

MY PROMISE TO YOU
I won't give you generic wake windows and hope they work.
I won't shame you for your parenting choices.
I won't feed you fear-based claims or outdated advice.
What I will do:
Help you understand YOUR baby's unique sleep needs.
Create a personalised plan that actually works for your family.
Support you every step of the way.
Every family should do what’s right for them.
If sleep training feels right for you, I'm here to help you do it with confidence, compassion, and evidence-based guidance.
